WHO ARE THE CHUMBIES?
The Chumbies are African American characters and puppets we’ve created for an audience of children between the ages of 6-9. The Chumbies love family, friendship and fun and star in four Illustrated Talking Books on DVD and offer 2 sensational children’s musical CDs.
WHY ARE THE CHUMBIE DVDs AND CDs BOTH EDUCATIONAL AND FUN?
The Chumbie DVDs and CDs promote positive family values, increase a child’s love and enthusiasm for reading, enhance reading skills and provide engaging activities that complement each story and ignite the imagination.
WHAT ARE ILLUSTRATED TALKING BOOKS?
Illustrated Talking Books are positive story experiences about The Chumbies and their families. The words in each story are acted out and narrated by The Chumbies and supported by sound effects and music. And the action in each story is illustrated with realistic photographs and visual effects. Thus, the name, Illustrated Talking Books whereby children can look and listen and/or read along.

WHO ARE THE CREATORS OF THE CHUMBIES?
Topper Carew is the producer and narrator of The Chumbie DVDs. Topper has received over 50 awards for his graphic design, film and television work. His projects have aired in prime time on ABC, NBC, Showtime, HBO, PBS, Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Fox. His prime time series, MARTIN, made it to syndication. Along with his writing partner, Cornelia Carew, their hope is to cause a positive shift in social, political and cultural consciousness within and beyond the African American community. The Chumbies are distributed by our label, Urban Neo.
